Supreme Court Weighs Whether Vaccine Makers Can Be Sued

What do you think?
Should Vaccine Companies be shielded from Law Suits sprouting from injuries or deaths caused by vaccines?

We don't protect other drug companies, why should we protect Vaccine makers? Shouldn't each case have the right to be heard in a regular case rather than simply "paid off" by the "vaccine courts"?

  • Even though Flu vaccines are not required by law yet, other vaccines are. Yes they should be held accountable especially the law enforced ones, such as for our children.

  • Vaccines aren't required by law. That said neither are other medications or OTC pills. But I can guarantee you if a child were to die from taking Tylenol the company would be sued, or the parents would if nothing else have the option to sue... I don't see why any other drug, including vaccines, should be any different... IF your company creates a product which harms a person, you are liable, and should be held accountable.

  • No way should they allowed to slide if their product is causing harm. Vaccines are just another drug and should be treated as such.

  • vaccines are not required by law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes we should b allowed to sue!! imo i think they cause more harm than good and less people would get them if they knew the real facts!

  • actually many vaccines ARE required if you want your child to attend school. if you homeschool it does not matter but in most situations that is not the case. I hate the fact that is now REQUIRED that your child have the Chicken Pox vaccine before going to K. Really?? I had it twice and was fine...

  • coolchic - EVERY SINGLE STATE has exemptions and allows children to attend public school without vaccines. NO VACCINE is required - NONE!

That however, is not the point here, or the question... The question posed here is simply SHOULD those injured or the families of those injured or killed have the right to file a law suit against the drug companies which produce the vaccines as they are with other drugs?

  • well in CT the exemptions are medical and religion and they have to be backed very well...but as for the question for sure they should have the right..i find it absurd that they could be exept is makes no sense

Answer by coolchic320 at 8:52 PM on Oct. 16, 2010

  • Possibly...but I don't believe that vaccinations ARE harmful.

Answer by kerp1960 at 12:23 AM on Oct. 17, 2010

  • Well, that's the thing isn't it...

If vaccines aren't harmful then there is no need for our government to protect the companies from lawsuits, is there? So, the entire idea of them stepping in and buying off the families and victims through "vaccine court" shouldn't ever have been brought up, let alone signed in to law...
