  • You can tell when your baby starts getting fussy becaue the formula isn't coming out fast enough. Make sure they have good neck muscle and can turn away if they get too much milk. It should say on the nipple package, I think fast flow start at 3-6 months??

  • Watch your baby- if LO is struggling you can switch up to the faster nipple. With my large family I've seen kids switch at all different ages, didn't matter if the were BF first or only bottle. If you feel like the slow nipple is to slow but the fast one to fast you can thicken the milk a little with a scoop or two of rice cereal. GL!

  • I bottle fed my first from about 2 months on and he never wanted a faster nipple. I tried and he would just choke. He was completely off the bottle at 10 months though to a sippy cup.

  • We never used a "slow" flow nipple. I nursed mostly, but with our oldest we supplemented with formula, and he always used a fast flow nipple...

  • I'm not sure that we switched either. I think we only used the slow ones. I remember once trying to use a medium or fast flow once or twice, but guess we stayed with the slow ones.
