Watch John Stossel show tonight.

He show has been great tonight. If you want to help the poor overseas like our Government has been doing. Like sending money to Africa, has it been good or not.
He started with a great question: Why is America rich?

  • I can't get his shows station but I did see a special he did on FOX last night. It was on how people really do get sucked into government programs. They had a woman on there who told her story about how she was on welfare and food stamps for 7 years until Clinton signed the program in where you had to find work or go to school etc and you could only be on welfare for so long. She said if you have welfare, healthcare and food stamps why would you go to work? She even had free child care and she used it to spend her days at the beach, Also showed how people in general will hang out on unemployment until right before it expires and then will go out and look for work.
I really like his shows, I wish I got fox business so I could see them all,,

  • As for America being rich? It's not. The only way we are rich is through printing money. We do have riches others don't though. We are still free to take our lives wherever we please, to start our own businesses and prosper. To live where we please and have as many kids as we want. We can voice our opinions (for the most part) without being tossed in Jail. Most other countries are under the thumb of their government therefor their countries are not perceived as being rich (which is true because they have no money) Bad thing is We are being forced into the same lifestyle those countries are trying to tear away from.

  • Gammie & Kerp,

The  Republican congress passed welfare reform 3 times. Clinton fought them the first 2 times and would not sign it into law.

After the third time and the polls showing that the people were for it, Clinton finally signed welfare reform into law.

  • America is not rich we have a trillion dollar deficit. The government just chooses to overlook that and help other countries that turn their back on us the minute our politics or ethics are not helping them, instead of feeding our own hungry or our own orphans.
