What do I do with this?

We were gifted a 5 lb bag of pinto beans from a friend of dh's.

Anyone know what I can do with them?

  • cook them? how? that part i don't know LOL, my husband will slow cook them on the stove for half the day and eat them with the juice on top of bread , my mother will drain some of the juice and eat them right out of a bowl. me personaly i don't like any kind of bean unless of course it's a green bean lol

  • don't know why i didn't think of this..... have your children get creative with them, give them some constuction paper, the beans, and some glue. don't tell them what to make, tell them to make you something awesome and new. see what they can come up with. my son once tried to make the leaning tower..... it was leaning but looked more like a bean rainbow LOL, but he did such an awesome job , it still proudly hangs on my fridge :-)

  • You can also use them to make "draft dodgers" for your doors. Sew a long tube of material, fill it with the beans, then sew it shut. Lay that in front of any doors in your house that have a little draft coming in the bottom.
