Have you bought frozen veggies lately? (recall info - broken glass in pkg)

Frozen veggies sold nationwide at WalMart and in the Southeast US at Kroger have been recalled due to potentially containing broken glass. No injuries reported yet.
The voluntary recall covers the following items:

-- Kroger 12-ounce Green Peas (UPC 11110 89736). Production Codes of 1440BU, 1440BV, 1440BW, and 1600BD.

-- Kroger 12-ounce Peas and Carrots (UPC 11110 89741). Production Codes of 1960BD and 1960BE.

-- Great Value 12-ounce Steamable Sweet Peas (UPC 78742 08369). Best by dates of July 20, 2012; July 21, 2012.

-- Great Value 12-ounce Steamable Mixed Vegetables (UPC 78742 08026). Best by date of July 15, 2012.

  • Great to know though I havent bought any with so many recalls over the last few years on peanut butter, veggies, meats, eggs etc... it makes you really wonder is any food safe anymore...

  • Thanks for posting this; I am surprised I hadn't heard of this already. I bought lots of Kroger brand veggies. I don't think I have either of the varieties listed above, but I will definitely check the freezer, just in case.

  • I sure have - but I never buy them at Wal Mart and I wouldn't know where a Kroger is. ;o) Thanks for sharing the info though, I DO know someone that buys Wal Mart veggies so I'll pass along the info.
