  • Beef Burgundy
You cook this in your crock pot.
2 slices of bacon -- chopped
2 pounds sirloin tip or round steak -- cut in 1 inch cubes
    1/4 cup flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
    1/2 teaspoon marjoram
    1/4 teaspoon thyme
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 cube beef bouillon, crushed
1 cup Burgundy wine (or any red wine - or 1 cup beef broth)
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms or 1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
In a large skillet, cook bacon several minutes. Remove bacon and set aside. Coat beef with flour and brown on all sides in bacon mixture. Combine steak, bacon drippings, cooked bacon, seasonings, bouillon, and Burgundy in crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.
Turn control on crock pot to high. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons water. Stir in meat mixture. Add in mushrooms; cook another 15 minutes.

  • We're having Salisbury Steak,Sazon Goya rice with gravy, and chopped broccoli but trying to cook something different on Sunday since I hate when the weekends roll around.I have a very active 5 year old son who's ADHD and a 25 year old niece who's Autistic so when the weekdays come then I can think alone what's gonna be for dinner night after night unless they're not hungry.

  • What is Butter Chicken? Sounds like something my family would like. I'm making Burgundy Beef with Mushrooms over noodles. Waldorf salad, stir fried green beans and French Bread. Texas Sheet cake for dessert.

  • We ate with the ILs - creamed turkey buns, squash, green beans, tater tots. Supper what a free for all.

Deer is gamey to those who aren't used to it IMO. The first few times I had it I didn't like it - then I learned how to cook it and make it my own, and now I like it. My kids LOVE it, and can't tell the difference between it & beef. I usually cook it with plenty of onions, black pepper, and low sodium beef boullion - really yummy! Sometimes I grind it, brown it with the same stuff I use in my spaghetti sauce, and mix it into that - tastes better than beef IMO in spaghetti!
