Can bad eye sight cause behavior problems for a pre-k student?

My daughter is in pre-k and is having trouble paying attention when the teacher is farther away from her. She has had to be moved to the front of her class and it has helped some.

  • Yes!! I'm a Pre-K teacher and had this in my class. The behavior problem comes when they can't see what's going on and can't participate in it. Have her eyes tested, but by a doctor who will use pictures to test, not letters. You can ask before making the appointment. Good luck!

  • Usually it will cause academic problems. Have you had her eyes checked? It's worth the time.

  • Yes and I agree with GNMom88...maybe frustration... Good luck...! Hearing and vision tests (not screenings) are recommended at this age...
