could i get contractions at 19 weeks?

im having stomac pains in my abdomen that is like contractions off and on i have felt 4 all day long

  • Is it sharp pains or a kind of tightening cramping feeling? If it is just a tightening cramping feeling, it is probably Braxton Hicks. You can have them earlier with subsequent babies, at least I did, so depending on which pregnancy this is for you, that is a possibility.

  • Braxton Hicks are normal at this point, but if they are painful, have a regular pattern, you're bleeding, or you have more than 4 in an hour then go to the doctor and get checked out. Drink a couple glasses of water and lay down on your left side and it should go away.

  • Contractions would be more frequent, like every few minutes. They will feel more like menstral cramps, in which it feels like our tummy is tightening around the baby, then goes back to normal. I would hope you are not having any contractions at only 19 weeks. The stomach pains you are experiencing would more likely be your uterus getting stretched out as baby grows. But if it is intense pain that takes your breath away and if it is very frequent, go see a doctor asap.
