Need some healthy snacks to munch on

Its easy to slap a peanut butter sandwich together or grab a candybar. I need some healthy snacks I can grab. Any suggestions?

  • Cheese sticks, Those pre-packaged cup up apples, 100 calorie packs (they don't really fill me up though haha), trail mix ( I pre-make mine with chocolate chips! :)

  • you have to start buying healthy foods only so you don't have the option of picking up a candy bar. buy the atkins candy bars in case you really have a sugar fit or something. they are not bad. keep almonds close by too.

  • yogurt and granola, cut veggies or fruit, cheese cubes, rice cakes - they make minis now, but check the labels - some of the flavored ones are worse than cookies. The longer it takes you to eat, the more it will fill you up, so think in terms of things you prepare as you go, like spreading hummus on a cracker instead of just a pack of cheese and cracker sandwiches.

    It's not about what you grab so much as how much you grab. Yes, it's important to choose healthy snacks over junk food. However, if you grab a candy bar once a day that isn't going to harm you. Infact chocolate can be beneficial, especially dark chocolate. Now if you were grabbing 2+ candy bars in one day then you have an issue. Even fruits have high sugars/salts in them that in excess can lead to weight gain. Therefore, it's not about WHAT it's about HOW MUCH.
