  • My dd had a slumber party for her 6th bday. It was a crazy long night of rme but lots of fun. I think it depends on the kids and how well they know eachother and how well you know the parents.

  • Completely depends on the child and whether that is something the parent is comfortable with.

  • It really depends on the child. It might be easier to have one at your house for the first time. That way she can be comfortable, having a new activity, but being at home. Then when she's asked to go to one, she'll most likely have a good time, and you won't be called to go pick her up. She might be ready at 6, or it might not happen till later. Has she spent the night with grandma or another relative? Does she wake up in the middle of the night scared, and want to get into your bed? How does she do on playdates? Does she come home upset because someone hurt her feelings? Take all those things into account.

  • NEVER! So many bad things happen to children at slumber parties. Molestation, rape, drinking, etc.... My child will never attend a sleep over

  • however old they need to be to stay all night somewhere alone. If they have to go home early because they are homesick kids will make fun on them.

  • For my kids "slummer" parties started fairly early as they started out staying with family members when me and their dad were going threw a divorce. We hosted our first non family sleep over when DS was 6 and DD was 4.

  • I think it depends on the child and the family holding the party. For me, I think we would be waiting until atleast 10 or 12.
