gah! this is buggin me!! Recipe help NEEDED!!!

my mom used to make this great soup in the winter, it had navy beans,ham,noodles,and potatoes. but i cant figure out the recipe to save my life! ive been trying for almost 2 years now to make it. now asking my mom is NOT an option. sooo does anyone have any recipes that might sound like this?? from what i remember u soak the beans overnight,boil then,then add the noodles and ham and boil it all togehter untill done then add a box of instant tater flakes....and it turns into this creamy rich yummy soup.

  • My guess is that you need the ham juice for the base of the broth...

  • after eating a ham dinner cook the beans with the bone, you can also use ham hocks. then add the rest. sounds rather Amish to me and a recipe she must have made with what was on hand.
