mistreating the dog :(

we have always taught our son not to mistreat our dog. we've always told him the right way to treat the dog, and not to hit, pull, etc.

well now that he's 3, he's in a "phase" where his behavior is NOT GOOD, and he is very difficult. in addition to other "bad" behaviors, he has started acting out by chasing the dog. he doesn't hit him, but he chasing him making grrr noises. it scares our dog, which of course scares me. our dog is very very good with our kids but imo any dog will bite & that's why you have to always treat them right! i'm so sad that my son is doing this despite our efforts to get him to treat animals well :(

he has even started grabbing his legs and holding them. :(

any advice????!!!

  • You shouldnt give your dog away, but you're going to have to be seriously be stern with your son, and everytime he mistreats the dog, put him in timeout. Stick to disciplining him about it.
