allrecipes.com has some great recipes (I'm dealing with insulin dependant gestional diabetes). They aren't all diabetes recipes but they have the nutritional info so you can find the carb/protein info. Also exercise it key! 150 minutes a week (30 min 5x a week). There are studies that show that exercise can have a greater effect on lowering blood sugar than meds! Also low fat is important since there is some speculation that insulin resistance (type 2) is due to increased levels of fat in the cells blocking the ability of insulin to work properly.
