What makes you think you're a good parent?

I'm just curious what other people think makes a good parent and why they think they are one. This is NOT a bash against anyone it is just a question.

  • I think I'm a good parent because I make my child the center of my world. I make sure she is happy and content before I even think about myself or anyone else. I plan things throughout the week and weekend that I know she will have fun doing and, when at home, I don't just sit her in front of a television or a video game and ignore her while I do what I want to do.

  • I consider myself a good parent because DD is healthy, well-behaved, well-taken care of, and turning into a wonderful young lady. If I weren't a good parent, she may not have all of those great qualities.

  • I think I'm a good parent because I put my children before myself. Because I teach them in a loving way, because they have all of their needs and some of their wants. I feel I am a good parent because my kids tell me I am.

  • my son tells me he loves me all the time...that tells me I am doing something right! I also spend time with my kids playing, cooking, making messes, laughing, vacationing, praying, all kinds of things. If my babies are happy I am happy with my parenting skills

  • A good parent is one that has unconditional love, that is there for every turn of their children's life, that gets involved in anything and everything relating to them, who will never let them down, and who's home will always be a safe haven no matter how old they get.
Why do I think I am a good parent? My now adult children tell me on a regular basis, how lucky they have been and who better than them to know?

  • My kids are happy, well cared for and loved. They are honest and very well educated. I would lay down my life for them without hesitation. They are my fave people in the entire world. They come first(after God) in everything I do. They know they can come to me with anything and that I will in a timely manner find a good solution for them and I'm fair to each of them. I don't play favorites amongst them. I take great joy in their accomplishments. No one will ever take their place.

  • I think I'm a good parent because I'm loving, caring, put their needs first, comfort them, teach them right from wrong and provide a safe and warm environment for them!

  • There are times where I feel I'm a good mom, but then there are times where I feel I'm gonna screw them up.

  • I feel like I'm a great mother because my child is my first priority. I may be young but I do NOT party....ever! Yes I asked for help from my parents while I go to school to make a great life for the two of us. I could have taken the easy way out but I didn't and she is a great kid all around. So I must be doing something good.
