anyone have a child who is manipulateive

my 5 year old son can manipulate anyone to his advantage in a mean way his real fater was the same i used to be that way very bad trait. i didnt learn how to do that and guilt till i was 14 he has learned it by age 2 so how do i deal the teacher tells him to do his work he tells her he wont and she cant make him. hes out of controll you tell him to do something he gives you a crukid evil grin and says no i dont want to so i wont. no punnishmet helps i thought adhd but he can controll it so im not sure if it isnt just a mean streak or uncontrollable rage deep inside. plus when he was young his biological fater abused him in other ways than physical i tryed to do something about it the courts wouldnt. any ideas. maby therepy i dont know,

  • in some ways he's right, he doesn't have to, and no one can make him.
    but, people can make it clear to him that if he doesn't, there will be consequences.
    Like possibly being the kid that didn't pass to the next grade!

    does that idea bother him?

  • I think that taking him to a therapist may be a good idea. It sounds like he doesn't have any respect for authority or rules - he should be evaluated.
