  • When my son has a cold, I give him a bath right before bed, put children's vicks on his back and chest and run a cool mist humidifier in his room. He seems to sleep better.

  • My child isn't here yet but my mom always gave us robitussin, cough drops and warm baths with plenty of steam, then ran a humidifier in our rooms when we slept. Now you can get the humidifiers w/ the vicks medicine in them too.

  • My daughter is only 4, so cold medicines are not recommended for her, so I never buy any OTC cold medicine for her. So what I do is give her a 1/2 tsp of Clairitin (recommended by Ped) and run the cool-mist humidifier in her room at night. Thankfully this normally calms it down...although I have had to visit the Pediatrician for a prescription before.

  • Hasn't it been said Vicks is bad for kids? Or is it just babies?
Anyway, I keep him hydrated, use a decongestant I get from the ped,
and lots of cuddling and toon-toons.
