At what age did you start bathing your child daily?

The doctor told us not to give our baby a bath everyday because his skin would become dry. So what age do you start the daily bath?

  • I have a 3 & 4 year old... They still don't bathe every day, just every other day usually... Unless they are out doing something to get them dirty, there isn't really a need every day.

  • 3 year still bathes every other day unless she is doing something that she gets dirty. Babies do not get dirty and if you feel that they are, you can always wipe them down with a diaper wipe. They really don't sweat too much and you are always wiping their vaginal and butt areas every day.

  • My DS is in 5th grade and I still don't make him bathe daily. Maybe every other day...? He can choose to shower daily, if he wants, and I may encourage this more as he matures...but even *I* don't shower every single day. My hair and skin would totally dry out.

  • I have a 6 year old and he's never bathed everyday....I don't bathe everyday, my skin gets dry enough. No one needs daily bathing, in fact the second day is my best hair day. I wouldn't give a bath the next day unless they get really messy while eating or playing and needed it.

  • When my dd was younger (baby) I think I only bathed her once a week or so, unless she happened to make a total mess of herself when eating. And as she got older up until puberty hit she would bath every couple days unless she got dirty outside or sweaty. But when puberty hit she really did need to bath every day and started wearing deoderant. That was around 5-6 grade.

  • My oldest is 3 and he still doesn't get a bath every day, because he has super dry skin and extra baths just exacerbate the issue. Same with my youngest (18 months), but hers is because of some eczema.
