what do you allow your kids to drink when you go out to eat?

i wait tables and i've only noticed a handful of moms who give their kids choices on drinks. milk, water, juice, maybe sprite or lemonade. I've noticed that 90% of the time most people don't care when the kids say they want mr. pibb, coke, diet, etc.. just wondering if you give your kid a choice or if when you go out you let them have whatever they want? I usually make mine choose between sprite or milk. I really hate when i wait on a table and the 3 yr old says they want a coke and the mom allows it. So many moms on here say they don't allow this and that..but from what i've seen with my own eyes from day to is very hard to believe.

  • My son doesn't like pop, so it's either unsweetened ice tea, water or milk

  • There are no choices when we go out to eat. Well I guess there is, it is water or nothing for all of us.

  • He normally asks for milk depending. His other choices are Choc milk, juice if avail, water then if he really refuses those, can he have sprite. He gets soda or a much more reg basis when he's with his mother.

  • He gets milk or juice, never soda. On the rare occasion that those are not available, he can have lemonade or something similar as long as it's not carbonated. Not crazy about the lemonade either because I know it has a lot of sugar too, but I can put up with it for one meal. He can also drink water as well.

  • If i am just picking up fast food I get a coke but he gets juice when he eats...the little coke is for me lol. If it is a resturant it is either milk water or juice. He does not need to be drinking soda. He is only 16 months old so he has no choice.

  • We rarely go out, but when we do Julita can get a sprite. She drinks milk and water at home. I don't feel that an occasional sprite will hurt her. She's never had soft drinks with caffeine.
