What is a -2 station?

What does it mean when the OB says the baby is at a -2 station? is the baby engaged? Im confused thanks.

  • It means the baby is still up high, possibly engaged, but they go from -2 to -1 to 0 to +1, +2.

  • The negative number is how high the baby is above the pelvis .. O station the baby is at the pelvis and the positive numbers mean below the pelvis.. Google it to get the full details and pics if you want..
