If you are only voting republican based on the abortion issue, why? Your fearless leader, Bush, has been in office for 8 years and has not even attempted to stop abortion. Yet he used this issue during his election to make people THINK that he was against it. As a matter of FACT, Bush has said NOTHING about the issue since he became Prez. So, do you really think anything will happen if McCain gets in the white house?

  • Doesn't the president have the power to vito and stop abortion? And why didn't bush even talk about it or try to get some kind of movement started, or something, anything? He just did what he wanted and f@*k everbody else. You will get the same from McCain! And by the way, there is NO such thing as PRO-ABORTION , no-one is pro abortion, everyone is pro life!!!!!!!!!!!! However, there is something called PRO-CHOICE !

  • No, I was never voting based on abortion....although I do know people who base their votes on that. Their reasoning----b/c the presiden could have the responsibility of picking supreme court justices and if there is a pro-life/anit-abortion president, then they would choose a pro-life/anit-abortion justice.

  • That is a silly question asked to start crap. Are you an Obama suporeter ONLY voting b/c he is pro choice? Of course not.

  • why do you compare this issue to bush? is mccain bush? no... regardless if they are seen together a lot of whatever, they are 2 completely different people. Who is to say that Obama will do the things HE says? No one, because we can't tell the future.

Answer by Anonymous at 11:14 PM on Oct. 28, 2008

  • Well, not to play Devils's advocate, but Bush wasn't in a position to elect two new ultra-conservative Supreme Court justices. So, Bush couldn't do anything to take away our right to choose, but McCain certainly has the opportunity.
Which is just one of many reaons why I voted for Obama.

  • Great question!

Have you ever heard of supreme court justices?

They are appointed by the president.

They are the ones that have the power to change Roe vs Wade (abortion)

They are appointed for LIFE so they either retire or die.

There are two very liberal PRO-ABORTION justices that want to retire soon.

If McCain wins he will (hopefully) appoint two that are pro-life.

Then if another one retires or dies the pro-life ones will be in the majority and HOPEFULLY babies lives will be saved as Roe VS. Wade will be overturned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for asking!

  • No, there are many reasons I'm voting for McCain and not Obama. And no Bush did not overturn Roe v Wade but he did elect conservative judges. He did vow to veto partial birth abortion. Ppl keep blaming alot on Bush... let's remember congress is controlled by the Dems. Also I agree with Anon1114: McCain is not Bush.

  • it's all about the SUPREME COURT JUSTICES!!!!!!!!!!

Bush never had a CHANCE to appoint a new one, so that's why roe vs. wade was never overturned!

Basically in this election if you vote for McCain you're for women's rights - rights of women and me who are unborn and have never lived!

If you vote for Obama you're against the rights of the unborn.

    Get it?
