Did/do your child(ren) pull the "I'm Hungry" card?

Getting my boys to bed is a full time job. Its almost always a fight. And lately when they see how serious I am they pull the I'm hungry, or thirsty, or gotta pee card. Like just now they pulled the I'm hungry one. They ate not too long too long ago. I can't just ignore it though because I would hate to send them to bed hungry. Did you ever experience this or something similar? What did you do to make it stop.

  • hey, do what i do. here's our evening routine. dinner, then playtime while i clean up the kitchen. bath time, then they can have a snack and a little drink. then it's brush teeth, pee and bedtime stories. they don't have any excuses this way lol. it works great and they can't stall because i have all the bases covered lol

  • AT dinner, I make it clear to fill up on the food (not dessert) first, because they don't want to feel hungry later. It's all i can do :) Hope this helps.

  • Every night. All 3 of them do the pee, get water, and hug everybody routine but my 6 yr old throws in the "I'm hungry" card. Depending on what type of mood we are in we either give him a snack or remind him that he needs to eat more at dinner & send him to bed anyways.

  • My boys always need a little water. I make sure they get a drink before they get tucked in, but they still ask. It will pass!
