Do you 'hide ' purchases you made from your SO?

I mean only small purchases like if you buy yourself a shirt or something like that.

  • Never. We never buy something without talking to the other person about it first. Even if it's a candy bar. lol Everything is agreed upon and money is always spent wisely.

  • Hah - well, I have a thing for shoes, so when he asks me if a pair is new and how much they were, I will hold out one foot and say "these? On sale - $50" - for one shoe, that is.... I don't hide purchases because we share a Visa account. I'm a SAHM and the monthly credit card bill goes to him, and comes out of our chequing account so he sees everything. We are a partnership - he makes the money and I spend it...;P

  • I just hang it up in the closet, lol. My husband only notices my clothes once they're on me because then he's scrutinizing how they fit. But I don't necessarily hide it from him. It's more like a don't ask, don't tell policy in my house when it comes to little things (like less than $20).

  • Lol. I bought Nutella and hid it from him because I didn't want to share. It's my vice!

  • He doesn't take inventory of what I have or buy so although I may not announce every thing I purchase, I don't consider it hiding. If he were to ask what I bought that day I'd gladly show him.

  • I totally agree with everyone. Honesty and trust are so important, even with the little things. My MIL has always been bad at hiding things from her husband and I find it a little off. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one with an honest relationship =)
