adding juice to baby's formula?

Have you ever added fruit juice to your baby's formula. When ds gets the hard poops I do this. Btw, I replace the juice with the amount of water I would be using, not adding juice to the already made up bottle. I use 1-1 1/2 oz of juice to a 6 oz bottle. Sometimes I use more but rarely.

  • Never added it to formula, but my son has had intestinal issues since he was a baby and he has always had to have a little watered down apple or prune juice. When he was an infant, it was much more watered down.

  • Blech... I would worry it would mess up the balance of the formula.

  • (not that formula is particularly well-balanced to begin with)
