  • Apply the cleaning solutions to an inconspicuous bit of carpet, place a white cloth over the wine spill, and press your hand or foot firmly on it. Lift it up when the cloth is saturated. Find a dry spot on the cloth and blot the stain again. Continue this process until no more liquid comes up.Mix 1 tbsp. of hand dishwashing liquid with 1 tbsp. of vinegar and 2 cups of warm water. Apply a small amount of the mixture to the stain. Blot with a new clean cloth, and reapply the mixture. Sponge the carpet with clean water. Mix 1/8 cup of oxygenated stain remover with 2 cups of warm water.

  • if it's kool-aid...First take a wet white cloth and place it on top of the stain. Then place a warm iron (on a low setting) on top of the white cloth. Leave on the stain for 15 minutes. Repeat until the stain is gone.

  • Never tried salt and water - but it works for the Navy !!! I was going to suggest Resolve - we use that for everything around my house - leave it on the stain for a while if it is a tough stain or has been there a long time (or if you don't know what the stain is). Always test the carpet someplace you won't see first with anything new you try !!
