What happens if the baby isnt getting enough oxygen?

Im 28wks 6days. Baby hasnt been moving much and Im a bit worried she isnt getting enough oxygen. Im going to the ER in the morning if her activity doesnt pick up. If she is low on oxygen or the cord is wrapped around her is there anything they can do? Im hoping for the best but just in case I need to know what my options are.

  • Better to be safe than sorry, but shes probably just cramped :) The closer you get to your due date the less you'll notice her moving. Simply because she is getting so big and there isnt much space to sqirm around.

  • Yea but yesterday at this time she was real active. Felt like she was in there boxing someone. And today barely anything.

  • I hope she starts moving soon. Did you ever try to orange juice or shaking your belly a little?

  • i went through that with my daughter. everytime i went in she was fine. just didnt move some days. :) if it turns out shes not getting enough oxygen they might end up trying to turn her a bit and move u around to see if it helps. but remember that the more u stress and freak out the less blood flow through the cord. so calm down and drink lots of water. and go to the doc :)

  • Unless the cord is pinched you don't need to worry about it. If her oxygen is low it is because your oxygen is low or the placenta isn't function correctly. Babies don't breath. Their oxygen comes with the blood in the cord. As long as the blood is flowing she is getting what is there. Babies and their cords are covered in slippery stuff the same as a fish. Have you ever tried to catch a live fish with your hands and had it slide right out? Okay so stop saying ridiculous things about cords being wrapped too tight. It is a good idea to get checked out and find out if there is anything wrong or if she is just napping from all of yesterday's kickboxing. But please stop perpetuating the cord myths. And I don't think she should be running out of room at only 6 months. Of course I hope she is fine and wish you both well.
