  • From upstate New York, near Ithaca.
I grew up calling it POP
    Now we call it Coke
Once in a while we have soda or soda pop.

When I was about 7, my cousin and I waited at a friends house for about three hours while their mother went to get POP. When the mother came home she had their father who had been in the hospital. We were certain if we stayed they would share the POP with us. What a disappointment.

  • My husband and I are both originally from WVa, and we both call it "pop". We have also noticed as we have traveled that it differs in different regions of the country. Soda, soda-pop, pop, and then the ones that call all different kinds "Coke" . It is interesting.
