If a person is not a musician and never took a course in music appreciation, is it possible for him or her to know a lot about world music and jazz?

  • I think so. Just because they never took a class on it does not mean that they did not teach themselves about it and do some research about it. That is like saying that you can not like any type of art because you dont know the history of art.

  • I think so because there blind people who can't read sheet music and know a lot about music and same thins about danceing to music have to feel rythum to dance.

  • They can learn about it on their own. Through the internet or reading books or watching films. A classroom isn't the only way to learn.
