  • Pumpkin Teeth Counting Game

Cut pumpkin shapes out of orange felt. On each pumpkin draw a single jack o lantern face with a large smile but no teeth. Number the pumpkins from 1 to 5. Cut 15 tooth shapes out of white felt. Place the pumpkins on a flannelboard. Have your children take turns identifying the numbers on the pumpkins and placing the appropriate number of teeth in each pumpkin's mouth.

    Pumpkin Matching

Draw the outline of a pumpkin on each of 12 index cards. Divide the cards into six pairs. Draw different jack o lantern faces on each pair of cards. Mix up the cards and let your kids take turns finding the pumpkins with matching faces.

  • Can you send their costumes and let dad dress them and meet you somewhere to trick-or-treat? Maybe you and dad could take them. Would he be willing to let you have them at 5 or you let him keep them an extra hour and take them. You could start switching it up, one of you take them this time and the other next year.
