What is a good recipe for a oatmeal cookie base?

I compete in the state fair each year, and I look for base recipes to start with, that don't come out of a box, that when I alter it can make it uniquely mine. Since I like to experiment, I thought having something like that in my box, is always great, for when I have a little more time, and don't have to rely on a pouch or box mix.

  • Oh, so you make ahead a box of mix?
I suppose this is a good one.
    I'll bake it like this.....
3 cups of oats -----1+1/2 cups of bisquick ( includes the soda, + powder for baking later) 1+1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 +1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup of honey or 1 + 1/2 cups of brown sugar packed
    2 eggs, beaten
(((so you'll add the honey, and eggs right prior to mixing/ baking !)))
2 tbsp. vanilla --also later on
raisins ---- may be later on, or in dry mix.
1 cup butter ----added later on
MY RECIPE>>>>> I do all this ahead and store it at times in winter and bake when it's super cold out.
