  • Cornbread dressing. My ex-hub was from NY, and I'm originally from TX, and when I went to the first Thanksgiving dinner at their place, they didn't have it. Instead it was some kind of white bread mush. I don't know how to describe it but it did not involve cornbread and I suffered through it politely. Lol. By the way I have had some decent Northern style "stuffing" since then and it was good, I'm not dissing other kinds, to each his own, but I favor cornbread dressing and Thanksgiving dinner would not be the same without it.

  • Gravy made from drippings. My mother in law uses bacon grease and potato water to make hers and it's just not the same. When we host a holiday at our house I make real gravy.
