Dark circles under eyes

My son has always had circles/bags under his eyes. Today though they are abnormally darker. They look really bad. Why would this be?

What causes dark circles/bags under the eyes of a 2yr old?

  • I don't know what causes it but there are several people in my family (me included) who have them. I think Hispanics and others with olive skin (I could be wrong) are known to have them. Ask his doctor about it.

  • Allergies might be a problem, ask your pediatrician.

  • It could be inherited, it could be he's tired and isn't sleeping enough, or it could be allergies....these are all possibilities.....I would take him to the doctor for reassurance...

  • The skin under my son's eyes gets darker if he is sick (especially if it is allergy related) or if he's tired.
