How do you make your own website?

I am looking at making my own website for my business, but I am just starting out. And I don't have the money to pay for a site. I kind of need a free site that I can turn into a business site. Any suggestions?

Oh, I almost forgot. It is a fitness business to be run out of my home.

  • Find a free host. Many of them have templates you can pick from and it's easy to set up. I do webdesign and it's pretty easy. If you want a .com my host offers a package for as little as $2 a month. Message me if you want some help.

  • There are a lot of free websites that have templates, however, you will be limited as to what you can do with it. For example, you may not be able to change the color of the template or you may be limited to 3 pages. Also, unless you buy your own domain name (usually around $10 for one year), you will have to choose a name such as www.fitness.weebly.com. So, take those things into consideration. If you are willing to spend $10-$20 a month on a website then you will be given many more options. Anyways, here are some to look at that are free-

  • There aren't any free sites that I am aware of. You need to buy your domain name, which is a yearly fee, usually $10/yr. Then as long as you are using a template, you will need to pay monthly hosting fees. Places that offer this are Yahoo Stores, ProStores, Vista Print, Homestead and others.

Don't forget you get what you pay for. So a free or nearly free site might not offer what your business will need.

  • Try Wordpress. I like it and it's free but limited. Additional costs apply depending on you'd like.
