Homemade Treats for Halloween

I just made some popcorn balls. How I wish we lived in a time that I could actually pass those out to trick or treaters. I would love my kids to get home made things over candy bars and candies. Oh well what can you do. What would you make if you could?

  • How do you make popcorn balls? I have never done that and think my kids would love them.

  • I make lots of Halloween food for our parties, mummy toes (bacon wrapped lil' smokies) werewolf claws (chicken strips breaded with crushed triscuits and a black olive claw stuck on with cream cheese), goblin ears (fried spinach tortellini), deviled egg eye balls, bat wings (marinated and baked chicken wings), etc. We have a huge party every year with lots of fun "real" food instead of all the sweet stuff.

  • Pumpkin bars, marshmallow fudge, or caramel apples are our favorite fall "treats". Now I make real food too, like mummies (hotdogs wrapped in strips of crescent roll dough and baked, then use ketchup or mustard for eyes in between the dough at the top), blood soup with crispy batwings (tomato soup with toast cut in the shape of a bat wing), Grilled cheese pumpkins (cut pie crust with a pumpkin shaped cookie cutter, place circles of ham and cheese on top, top with another pumpkin shaped pie crust, seal the edges with a fork and bake til done), and dirt cake for dessert (the one I make is really yummy, it's made with cream cheese, vanilla or chocolate pudding, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip, oreos and decorated with gummy worms, candy pumpkins, candy bones, etc)

  • Sounds yummy! You could have a little Halloween party and invite kids you know to enjoy them.
