When does a baby start crawling?

my baby is really strong. she was able to hold her head up all by herself at a month and a half. she likes to stand up when i hold her hands and can take steps. shes almost 4 months and can support herself when shes on her tummy but cant crawl yet.

  • 4 months would be really early... not all kids crawl tho. The only answer to that is "when they are ready."

  • Sometimes 6 months............sometimes 10 months. And as earlier member said some don't even crawl at all, but go right to pulling themselves up.

  • My daughter didn't crawl until she was 9 months. And then started walking at about 13 months. They just do it when they're ready. My daughter was kind of late on the crawling, or so I was told.

  • My son could hold his head up not even a month after he was born. He was very active. He didn't start crawling til 9 months. He is almost a year old, and is still not quite walking yet. They do it when they are ready. Don't rush them. Trust me. Enjoy them while they can't crawl all over the house while you can.
