Gotta love the unions, don'cha?

A union man who helped build a stage for an Obama rally was fired for wearing a USS George H. W. Bush shirt. He had gotten it at a family day from the ship, which his son serves on.

  • YEAR AFTER YEAR? Decade after decade?Etc. ? How dramatic. Ha. I don't think so. I swear there are so many crybabies posting here.

The only ones that will be "crying" here in...NINE DAYS...will be libs/Progressives!! LOL And YES, there are quite a few just on CM that continue to complain and point out every freaking short-coming from GW Bush, GHW Bush, and Reagan...as if they are still politically active!! But NEVER complain or point out the short-comings of Obama, Clinton, or even Carter!! (in keeping things relatively current) So, Kerpielou its tacky to wear a GW Bush shirt, but it's NOT tacky to wear something like this?!

  • I love how it's always a "mistake" made by an unknown somebody, or a "teachable moment" when the media gets a hold of the story and it goes viral!!

If the media didn't broadcast it, NO ONE would ever have known, and this guy would still have been fired. Kind of like what happened to Juan Williams, and I'll bet NPR is regretting their decision now! LOL

Oh and Friday...why is it when Democrats, liberals or Progressives make a "mistake" we're supposed to quickly accept their "olive branch" and forget it ever happened, but when a Republican/conservative makes an error in judgment, it continues to play out year after year, decade after decade?!

kerpielu, the shirt was for the aircraft carrier the USS George W.H. Bush. It isn't named for the son, George, but for the daddy, George. Plus, it is a United States Ship, (USS). Since when can't a person where a shirt in support of an American naval ship especially when your child serves on it. It isn't tacky. I would hope that PBO would appreciate the loyalty to child and country. If he doesn't, then he shouldn't be president.

  • She won't come back to this question. She had a motive that doesn't equate to being a "nice girl", does it?

  • IF that is actually is the case they were in the wrong but we are all just making assumptions about what ifs. We can't know what would have happened if events had been different.
