I'd like to do some freelance writing.

Do you have any ideas on how to get started?

  • Well, first of all you have to prepare an online presence.  It's like your online Resume.  Do you have writing experience to show?  Most companies will thoroughly inspect your profile page, so set yourself apart from all the others by achieving profile perfection- perfect grammar, punctuation, spelling and style are a must. Polish your accomplishments, skills and work history. Make sure to include testimonials from past positions. Then get to finding an opportunity for you!  You can try Guru, Elance, oDesk, GetaFreelancer.com, Hotgigs.com and sites such as that.  You can Google freelance opportunities.

  • Check out Examiner.com..... I have a few friends who write for them and get paid per hit/traffic, etc... Not as primary career. Good Luck

  • You have to have a writing sample generally in the subject you wish to write about. There's a few places that I write for and make a decent amount of extra money in a month.
