Will my hair stay curled after a perm?

I had one done back in January and it is still very wavy except at the roots, but if I use a product to style my hair will curl at the roots but not as well as the ends. If I get another perm will this help because I don't want to get them forever?

  • I would say a hair cut would help more, the weight is straightening it at the roots.

  • Yes, if your hair is naturally straight you will need to keep getting them. Ask your stylist for tips though. Every hair texture has different tricks.

  • I think I might just get one more because so far so good, but I agree on the haircut

  • My hair was naturally straight until about 6 years ago, then it started to get kinky a bit.

  • The cut can help so much if your roots aren't getting that wavy/ kinky look that the ends are.

  • Hair grows. Perms do not grow with hair. You either need to keep getting perms (damaging to hair!) or grow this one out. I've never had a perm that stayed curly at the roots, even when I curled it. Also if you're using too much product that can backfire on you.
