  • Well maybe its her normal, maybe its not. Our ped usually asks about that at every appointment. If they have been waking at night (more than looking around and laying back down) she starts looking for things that may be waking them up. Acid reflux, ear infections, or pin worms, among other things. Is she hungry when she wakes up? Maybe she needs a higher protein snack right before bed. Cheese, peanut butter, milk, scrambled egg, etc... If they are overly tired, they will wake during the night. Goes against logic, I know, but its true. Try an earlier bed time or giving her a chance to nap during the day. I would rule out all of these things before saying its her normal. And even if it is her normal, maybe you can get her to play quietly in her room or look at a book until she is ready to go back to sleep. She should be able to self soothe.

  • It must be fairly normal as my almost 3 year old DD wakes at least once in the night. It dosen't matter where she is sleeping (by me or not) she just wakes to go lay somwhere else. Sorry I'm no help, just thought I'd let you know your not alone!

  • I'm in my 40's and I still don't sleep through the night! LOL! Some people just don't. I have to really watch my caffeine, exercising, etc. I do take anti-anxiety meds, but when I go to bed, it takes about two hours before I relax enough. I've always been this way, ever since I was little. So, it's not abnormal.

Sorry I don't have any advise for you, but your not alone.

  • I am surprised....all my kids were good sleepers . They slept all night by three months and didn't wake up unless they were really sick. I don't know what to say. W never let them sleep in pur bed, though. They just got used to being in their own beds and they were really laid back and calm kids.

  • My son has never slept throught the night unless he was going through a growth spurt or sick, if he does & isnt sick than hes usually kept me up till 11pm or later(3am a few times) & is cranky all day the next. But nothing we've tired will get him to sleep any earlier. So all I have for "advice" is GOOD LUCK
