Do you still water down your 3-4 yo's juice?

I still water down my almost 4 yo's juice. He get's about 75%w-25%j, or 50-50. The only time he gets it straight is if we're out to eat or something and he gets a juice box. Just curious as to how many other moms water down their kids?

  • Then why give him juice at all? The juice i get is 100% juice, so no artificial sugars in it. I dont mind him having a sippy of juice a day.

  • My kids get daily vitamins, drink plenty of milk, and eat plenty of fruit/veggies, so they're not missing anything from not getting juice. Plus, there's so much sugar in juice and kids need water WAY more than they need juice. My 1 yo gets ALL water with just a splash of juice.

  • I always did to save money.....juice wasn't necessary, it was just a way to get them to drink more fluids when they didn't like water.

  • Yes we still water down our 4 1/2 year olds juice, usually 60% J 40% water. We usually buy the fruit and veggie juices like ocean spray, or v8, etc.

  • Yep, we do 50/50. My 4 yo will occasionally drink juice out of a juice box, but if I'm just putting it in a cup she won't drink it unless it's mixed with water. She says it's too sweet like candy and she doesn't like to drink it.

  • I buy 100% juice as well, but there's still sugar in it. The 100% white grape juice I have in the fridge right now, says that there is 38g of sugar for every 8 ounce glass.

And that's fine if you give him just 1 cup of juice a day, but does he drink water at all?
