Like others have said definately Cardio. Cycle classes can burn up to 1000 calories in an hour ( if you go pretty hard core) sit ups help but they will make muscle not necessarily burn fat covering the muscle. Cut out all the bad carbs ( you still need carbs for your brain) things like potato, sweet potato, white bread, rice.
you can limit rice to maybe half a cup or have one slice of whole meal bread.
also you may want to try a protein supplement and eat clean.. protein based, cut out your lactose replace with soy milk, calcium fortified.
