Do you think Obama is going to end the war?

There are many posts reading that Obama wants to end the war. I believe he said he wants to move the troops, not end the war. Am I the only one who heard this?

  • Who knows what Obama will do. He lies about everything and both the senate and the house are democrats. That is what is so scary. We will all be puppets in those socialist idiots minds.

  • Wow. Wouldn't that be great !? If he could just get the people in Afghanistan who are terrorizing their communities, those in Iraq, Iran, all of Palestine to just STOP using guns and bombs ... AND of course to quit planning and carrying out their attacks on embassies, on neighborhoods in England and France and Japan and Indonesia and Spain, oh, and in the U.S., too - although we have been lucky compared to those other countries. That would be WONDERful ! After all, most of this war is us responding to such attacks and preparations for attacks. So, you are entirely correct, Obama can only move troops, ending the war is a bit different - and well beyond his ability.

  • He's already talked about committing more troops to Afghanistan, so I'm not sure what some of the ladies are talking about in this forum when they say he's going to bring our troops home. Obama's not going to do that...he's shifting them from Iraq to Afghanistan to continue the war on terrorism.

What's the difference? How does he plan to cut defense spending when he's going to be putting troops into another country?

  • Ok, so I'm not losing my mind. I didn't know why people were posting that he would bring the troops home.

  • anon 8:03...there is a difference because the troops won't be so spread out and there won't be as many troops deployed obviously, duh. True he will send more troops to Afghanistan, but he won't need all those soldiers that were in Iraq in Afghanistan as well. Entirely, too many people and too large of a target. And lastly if there is no troops in Iraq then there will be less money spent on the war.
