How come my baby gets the hiccups so often?

  • How old? I think that is pretty common with newborns, something about developing the diaphragm muscles. Older baby, maybe ask your doctor.

  • Supposedly it's because of crying and sucking in air...i would beg to differ because my daughter (2 months old) will randomly get them, I have heard it's just a spasm if you will in the diaphragm.

  • My 2 month old gets them all the time. So much and so long that he crys because of it.

  • It could be the baby might feel cold or baby is drinking the bottle too fast. Idk GL

  • Hiccups are frequent, sudden contractions of the diaphragm muscle. They are nothing to worry about, they will happen less often as he get's older.

  • There is any old saying my great grand mother told me and swears by it because my 2 month old gets them just as much if they have the Hiccup they are growing... This may not be any help but I thought it was cute!!! :) Good Luck!!!
