Would you ask your 7 yr old..

daughter if she likes girls or boys because she said a girl on TV was "Hot"? Is it even appropriate to ask any child that age that?

  • No. they really have no idea at this point what they are attracted to. She probably heard someone say that and is repeating it.

  • naw, it's no biggie. My 5yo will tell another girl she has pretty hair or she likes her shirt... whatever. She does the same with the boys. She has probably heard someone say a girl was hot and is testing it to see how that works. You know how they love to try out new words =)

  • At seven, I would let it go.. Just let her know, throughout her life, that she can always come to you to talk... And that you'll support her because you love her.
