My three year old is not eating.

I mean, not eating at all. It's been several days now of less than 500 calories. (TMI alert) His poo is extremely loose and almost colorless. He's not complaining of any stomach pain, headache, or anything else. He's acting just as crazy as usual. If it had been one or two days I wouldn't be concerned. He's always been a picky eater, and he's never eaten much at a time. Now he's not even snacking. I know kids go through cycles, but this seems more extreme than previously.
Anyone have an experience or advice?

  • The colorless poo issue should be sending you to his doctor. That's not normal at all

  • Call your ped. Its probably just a stomach virus. Maybe one he's had before so he has some resistance, keeping him from being completely laid out, but still talk to your ped. Is he drinking ok? Just keep the liquids flowing. Stay away from dairy, but give lots of water, gaterade, etc...

  • You sure he has not eaten anything for 2 days? No food or liquid? Cause he should be acting sick from lack of food/drink. If he is acting normal he is digesting something. Call his doctor .

  • ...I didn't say he hadn't eaten in two days. I said he has had less than 500 calories for several days.
The poo was def. the red flag for me. Since he has NO other symptoms I haven't thought too much of it. He eats like a bird. Always has. I just wanted to know if anyone else had seen this before I called his ped. (Who, honestly, is on the other side of town and has awful hours. Wanted to be sure before I made the trip.)

  • if he is eating somethig and playing like normal then it may be nothing but if ur worried about it you should call the doctor thats the only way to be sure my son doesnt eat a whole lot unless he thinks he can eat junk all day (even though he doesnt)
