Who is one musician you wish were still alive?

Of course if the musician died at 70 years old in the 1940's they wouldnt be alive today, but let's speak hypthetically!

I wish Elis Regina was still around. She was a goddess of Brazilian music in the 60's-70's, died at 36 years old in 1982 from a drug OD. She left behind 3 kids who have her good genes and have carried on her legacy through their music...but she was really on her way to international stardom the last years of her life which happened posthumously

  • I'm going with Stevie Ray Vaughan (oh, how I love him) and John Lennon. Maybe Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin, too.

  • You know...this is difficult. Not because there are so many, but because there are so few. For many artists who died too soon, they were spared the indignity of growing old. Part of me wishes that Johnny Rotten had died young, so those of us who idolized punk as teens didn't have to witness the John Lydon and Joan Rivers VH1 Grammy Awards Red Carpet PreShow. I mean...WTF is that shit?! Would Kurt Cobain been able to maintain that level of anger into his 40's? Was he more than a one trick pony?

So, bearing that in mind..maybe Ian Curtis. Joy Division only ever released one album with him, he killed himself right before their first American tour. Im sure he had more than one in him.
