feeding issues

On Friday we found out the reason my 15 month old isn't gaining weight for the past 11 months is because he is not only lactose intolerant (which we've known since birth) but caarb intolerant. His body doesn't know how to break down and use carbs. So now we need to cut all carbs out of his diet unless he is eating them with protein. Has anyone else dealt with this before? We are having a hard time since he wants whatever his older brother (6) has. This morning he was crying b/c his brother had a dounut and he couldn't. thanks.

  • My only suggestion is to put the whole family on the same diet to help with things like you described this morning. You could have given the little guy a little donut and a little egg or something else with protein to go with it. We do not have food issues in our house, but my friend does and she just has all the family on the same gluten free diet.
