How much more water do you think the Ocean would have if there weren't any sponges in it?

  • The same amount that is currently in it. Since sponges absorb water, they aren't displacing that much area and the water is still in the ocean, just contained.

  • The same amount, but then, that would disrupt the ecosystem, which would affect the number of other aquatic ecosystems, which would cause more issues upon issues, heat up the ocean, cause evaporation or ice, and therefore the volume would be depleted....

    You know I'm not totally serious, right? I'm just making up an answer just to answer your question!
