  • i would have made him get up and deal with it. i always warn my dh when he's about to do something i think is stupid and i say "if u do this, I will not deal with the consequences of YOUR actions, so be prepared to take care of the kids." that always makes him think twice. and i kept my end held up and he had to deal with a screaming 2 yr old (not sick but another story in itself). lets just say he listens more.

  • Believe it or not...my dh can clean, cook, etc without me. His parents taught him to be self-reliant. Love it. My dh would not have made the decision yours did. Our son goes nowhere where people are sick. My son has only been sick 3x in 4.5 years.

  • Yeah, sometimes guy's can be jerks like that. My ex NEVER got up with our kids, ever, for any reason. New hubby is much better though, he raised all three of his full time on his own (he got full custody in their divorce) from the time they were 3, 5 and 8. That was 10 years ago and they are all straight A students (oldest is a Freshman in college and holding an A average) and anytime they are sick or need something, he never hesitates to be right there in the thick of it.
