What kind of "rules" did you grow up with?

I would like a list of your rules from your own childhood.
Do you employ these same rules?
If you have changed the rules.. why and to what?!

  • Rules:
    1) No talking back (calling names/yelling)...punishment- unload the dishwasher
    2) No fighting with Brother/sister...punishment - unload/load the dishwasher
    3) Do your jobs (chores)...Punishment - more Jobs (chores)

We didn't really have any other rules. If it was Summer time and we were at my grandma's swimming we got time out which was the absolute worst thing in the entire world!
I use/will use the same kind of rules I think they worked this day I HATE unloading/loading the dishwasher =o)

  • You couldnt go to sleep without cleaning the kitchen properly that means no dishes in the sink and counters need to be wipe down. And if you didnt clean the way momma wanted you to she would have you up at one in the morning recleaning the kitchen and when you done it to her satisfaction you still had to stay up and do other chores and then go to school. I make sure i keep my kitchen clean until this day

  • Honestly, I didn't really have rules as a child. I am my parents only child and they really never had strict rules. So I in turn don't have many rules. I do have rules (no back talk, picking up their toys etc). But really, my parenting is very similar to my parents.
