  • Why does he want it? I dont think its a problem. Just because he doesnt want cars and gi joes, doesnt mean hes going to be this or that. If he wants it then give it to him.

  • Sure. No big deal. Just like girls should play with trucks and such. Little boys need to learn and show nuturing too. If it is not a surprise let him go with you to pick it out.

  • No big deal at all..my girls will sit down and play cars and trucks with my son and then he will turn around and play dolls with them..trust me he is all boy threw and threw but i think it's normal for little boys to want to play with dolls..it's perfectly okay..don't let anyone make you think other wise..

  • There is no problem with it. My son plays with dolls, and my daughter plays with Hot Wheels. And they are both just peachy keen and fine. They are just toys to play with. Nothing more, and nothing less.

  • Absolutely!!! I'm not sure why people believe girls can play mommy but boys can't play daddy....

  • Don't let society and media's gender stereotypes sway your judgement. Maybe it'll help him to be a better dad one day, who knows?

would you feel the same if a little girl wanted to play with race cars or action figures (which are dolls, too)?

  • Of course!! My son who just turned three a few days ago has a few dolls that he picked himself and plays with a few more that his big sisters don't play with anymore. He plays with typical boy type toys but I see no problem with him playing pretend with a doll. He has his own little kitchen too:)

  • I personally did not get dolls for my son. Maybe I am "perpetuating gender stereo types" but no son of mine is going to play with a Barbie doll! I don't care if other parents do it or whatever, but for us, it just never occurred to me to get him one. I guess he does have action figures which are dolls, too. But absolutely no Barbies or girlie dolls. Not that he's ever expressed interest in them, anyway.
